Eugene Vamos

Mr. Vamos is a Member of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department. He has over 11 years of patent, trademark, and copyright experience. Prior work experience and academic knowledge provides Mr. Vamos with the ability and competence to counsel clients through technology development, the inventive process, and business issues with a financial analysis perspective.

As a patent attorney, he drafts provisional and non-provisional patents. Mr. Vamos acts upon office actions that arise from the patent application process at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). As a trademark attorney, he registers Federal trademarks at the USPTO. As a business start-up attorney, Mr. Vamos supports clients through their licensing, joint venturing, business structuring, and start-up needs.

Mr. Vamos earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Arizona College of Law and received his license to practice from the State Bar of Arizona in 2008. He founded the Law Office of Eugene Vamos, PLLC, a boutique law firm that counseled individuals, small businesses, and start-ups with their intellectual property law and business formation issues throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Vamos worked in the international energy infrastructure development field.  He led the financial analysis of gas fired power plant projects in Mexico and Guatemala from development, financial close, construction, start up, to operations. He also worked in renewable technology, fuel cell, coal, and gas pipeline projects.

After graduating from Stanford University with an Industrial Engineering degree, Mr. Vamos worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, where he collaborated in the research of Liquid Methanol Fuel Cells for DARPA applications. This team research culminated with technology transfer to industry, patents, and NASA technology awards.

Outside of the office, Mr. Vamos can be found traveling the world, learning chess and computer programming, running, and biking. He has completed the Boston Marathon as a Bandit and “Bike New York” three times.
