Mr. Egbert is Chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group. He is also currently a member of the firm’s management committee, and previously served as General Counsel.

Mr. Egbert assists employers with all types of employment litigation including discrimination, wrongful discharge, wage and hour and non-compete agreements. He frequently advises clients on employment policies and procedures, and represents employers before administrative agencies.

In addition to his labor and employment experience, Mr. Egbert serves as Chair of the firm's Appellate Practice Group. He has extensive experience before state and federal appellate courts. His appellate experience covers a broad range of substantive areas of law including general torts and personal injury, commercial and contractual litigation, professional liability and malpractice, constitutional, labor and employment, administrative, real estate, trusts and estates and tax law. Mr. Egbert is intimately familiar with appellate procedures and routinely addresses the complex appellate needs of his clients. He practices extensively before all levels of the state and federal appellate courts. He has briefed and argued many state and federal appellate matters, some of which have resulted in published opinions.

Labor and Employment

  • Represented large public utilities in various employment discrimination suits and overtime pay disputes

  • On behalf of an employer, challenged employee ballots before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB)  in Washington, D.C., which resulted in negating a union's election victory

  • Represented public university in disciplinary discharge hearings against tenured professor

  • Represented employer in dispute concerning application of federal discrimination laws within an Indian reservation
