Matthew L. Cates Appointed to Arizona Association of Defense Counsel Board of Directors


PHOENIX, Ariz. (April 1, 2011) – Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, PLC, a leading Phoenix-based law firm, announced that Matthew L. Cates has been appointed to the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel (AADC) Board of Directors. He will serve a one year term.

AADC is a non-profit organization composed of defense attorneys who practice primarily in the area of civil defense litigation. The organization is dedicated to the education of its members, and the judiciary and increasing community awareness of positive aspects of the legal profession.

Cates is a member of Jennings, Strouss & Salmon’s litigation practice, focusing on medical malpractice defense, health care law, and commercial litigation. He earned a J.D from Arizona State University Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and a B.A in Geology from Bowdoin College. Cates is a member of the litigation sections of the State Bar of Arizona and the American Bar Association. He is also a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association and serves on the Board of Directors of WasteNot, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to alleviating hunger among needy families throughout the Valley. Cates resides in Phoenix.
